The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
