19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.
Victory also indicates the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He saved four early opportunities in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
