Vehicles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police stated they were contacted by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement state they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Police then located multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report early analysis suggest the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

A high-ranking political figure stated the incident left him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the killing of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
